2020 Creative Space Grant Panelist, San Francisco Arts Commission
The San Francisco Arts Commission invited Margaret Southerland, Principal, Padma Consulting
to serve on a grant review panels to read and score submitted applications for funding
from the City of San Francisco to support the enhancement of San Francisco cultural facilities
through Planning and Facility Improvement Grants.
The aim of the grants is to improve existing arts facilities and develop new ones that will support the work of San Francisco’s arts organizations and artists. Specifically the funds support the planning or pre-planning for the development or acquisition of arts facilities; or capital improvements to address emergency situations, improve the capacity of the creative space, and/or to have significant positive effect on audience accessibility, comfort, and enjoyment.

San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs
Margaret Southerland, Principal, Padma Consulting, served on the
Capitalization and Sustainability Grants panel for the San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs.
This competitive grant program supports nonprofit arts organizations through significant projects that will improve an organization's capitalization and long-term sustainability.
Theatre Bay Area 2017 Annual Conference: Setting the Stage: Brave New World
Maria Jensen, Executive Director, SOMArts Cultural Center, and
Margaret Southerland, Principal, Padma Consulting,
co-presented a panel titled:
"Battening Down the Hatches: Preparing Your Organization for Economic Uncertainty."
Ms. Southerland also joined several of her C2Arts members in providing
free consulting services to conference attendees in the Speed Consulting break out session.
